Is it wrong the way television and media portray the huge spending of rich celebreties as glamorous?

I really get sick when I watch these television shows that are dedicated entirely to glamourising the outrages amounts of money some celebrities spend on material possessions such as cars, clothes, houses etc. We live in a world where people starve because they cant afford food and millions remain uneducated because they dont have schools or cant afford them and millions are sick from illness because they cant afford treatment. Yet channels like MTV work hard to give the image that it is ok and even glamerous for rich celebrities to spend huge amounts of money on more luxury than any person would ever need. I HATE IT! Its just another completely immoral and ignorant part of western society. And people dont realise that it is done with the very deliberate and planned purpose of making millions of ignorant viewers feel they must also go out and buy expensive brand name clothes in order to feel good about themselves. Its all just a big advertisment. Who else sees we all need to WAKE UP!!
